John Burns love for football began at the age of 6. He played his way through the defensive ranks up to his graduation from Carmel High School in Mundelein, Illinois. He enlisted in the Marines and continued to play in the military before deploying for Operation Desert Shield. After the military, John became a North Chicago police officer and continued to amass almost two decades of player experience, never missing a game. In 2009 he made the switch to coaching and was inducted into the AFA Hall of Fame in 2014. He is continuously helping spread his passion and knowledge of all things football.
